Čížkrajice

Čížkrajice ( German sitting in a circle ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located four kilometers south of Trhové Sviny in South Bohemia České Budějovice and belongs to the.

Geography

Čížkrajice located in the foothills of the mountain Novohradské country in a pond landscape in the headwaters of the creek Boršíkovský creek. North-east rises the Hájek ( 584 m) and in the Pacific Northwest Na Stráni.

Neighboring towns are Boršíkov in the north, and Mezilesí Pěčín in the northeast, Žár in the east, and Klažary Kamenná in the southeast, and Kukle Chvalkov in the south, Na Panském, Louzův Mlýn and Slavče in the southwest and Mohuřice and Lniště in the northwest.

History

The area around Čížkrajice is one of the oldest documented parts of Bohemia. While the written tradition of the neighboring towns Todně, Něchov, Mohuřice and Žár Čížkrajice is already used in 1186 is documented only since 1322. The place names Klažary, Nežetice, Nesmen, Otěvěk, Keblany, Kondrac and Trutmaň are of Celtic origin and occupy a much earlier settlement.

In the Middle Ages Čížkrajice was a fortified village, whose only goal in the northeast of the celebrations leading to the road to Schweinitz. A regular village square does not exist. According to the inscription on a grave stone in the church at Schweinitz the county seat Allodialgut belonged in the 17th century Johann Bejšovec of Bejšov († 1687 ). In 1745 sold Josepha Reißky Dubnitz of the estate of Francis of Buquoys on Gratzen who joined it to his rule. 1840 lived in 22 houses of sitting in a circle / Sickregice 185 German and Czechs. After the abolition of patrimonial formed Čížkrajice / county seat in 1850 initially a part of the community Pěčín / Haid in the District Commission Budějovice / Budweis and was then from 1884 to the municipality of Kondrac / Neudorf. In 1893, the place consisted 36 houses and had 155 inhabitants. Since 1922 Čížkrajice / sitting circle formed its own municipality in České Budějovice. 1930 lived in the town of 142 people, and in 1939 there were 163 in 1943 took place during the German occupation of the incorporation to Schweinitz, which was reversed in 1945 after the end of World War II. In 1948 the village was the Okres Trhové Sviny newly formed slammed, which was repealed twelve years later again. Since then, the community belongs to České Budějovice again. At the beginning of 1991 saw the re- incorporation to Trhové Sviny. Since 1994 Čížkrajice again forms a separate municipality.
