Claudio Langes

Claudio Langes ( born July 20, 1960 in Brescia ) is an Italian former race car driver.

Career

1978 was ³ in the class up to 125 cm Claudio Langes, the Italian karting champion. Subsequently he rose to the European Formula 3. In 1982 he drove a Dallara 382 Alfa Romeo and Anson SA3C Toyota. He scored 10 points and was tied with John Nielsen eighth in the championship. In 1983, he remained in the European Formula 3 and drove an Anson SA4 with an Alfa Romeo engine. With 11 points, he finished the championship in ninth.

In 1984, he went first for Eddie Jordan Racing and the Dutch team Barron Racing. He achieved a third place at Donington, second places in Monza, Enna and Austria on the ring and a victory in Knutstorp. With 36 points, he finished the championship in fourth place behind Gerhard Berger, Johnny Dumfries and Master Ivan Capelli.

In 1985, he joined the newly founded Formula 3000 and went there for Barron Racing in an old Formula 1 Tyrrell 012 After only two bad races in Silverstone and Thruxton he went back to Italy and launched in the local Formula 3 Championship. When Curacao F3000 Grand Prix, he returned for this one race in Formula 3000. For Eddie Jordan Racing, he drove a March 85B -Cosworth. Starting from fifth on the grid, he won the third place.

In 1986, he launched a full season in Formula 3000 for BS Automotive in a Lola T86/50-Cosworth. With a fifth and a sixth place in Enna or Le Mans he drove a 3 points and finished the season tied with Richard Dallest on the 17th rank.

In 1987 he moved to First Racing, where it was a March 87B -Cosworth. He experienced a disastrous season in which he could enter no point. In 1988 he went to GA Motorsport and drove a Lola T88/50-Cosworth. By a fifth and a fourth place in Birmingham or Enna, he scored 5 points and was 15 of the Championship, level on points with Volker Weidler.

In 1989 he moved to Forti Corse and drove a Lola T89/50-Cosworth. In Enna, he scored the second place his first podium and finished the season in 12th place overall.

For the year 1990, he had assembled the budget for a Formula 1 Start with the EuroBrun team. This team could be in the 1989 season for a single race qualify and this was repeated in 1990. Long failed in each of the 14 Grand Prix in the pre-qualification. It is therefore statistically the Formula 1 pilot with the least success.
