Cleburne is the capital and the county seat ( county seat ) of the Johnson County in the U.S. state of Texas in the United States.

Geography

The city is located 45 km south of Fort Worth, near the center of the county in the central northeast Texas and has a total area of 78.9 km ², of which 6.9 km ² water surface.

History

During the Civil War, the small settlement was known as Camp Henderson and served as a rallying point for the volunteers in the area. Only in 1867 it became the ordinary city and sparked due to its central location, Buchanan County Seat from. The city was named after Patrick Ronayne Cleburne, a major general of the Army of the Confederate States of America.
