Cléguérec

Cléguérec ( Breton: Klegereg ) is a commune with 2919 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Morbihan in the Brittany region. It belongs to the Local Government Association, Pontivy Communauté.

Geography

Cléguérec located in the north of the department of Morbihan and belongs to the Pays de Pontivy.

Neighboring municipalities are Sainte -Brigitte and Saint -Aignan in the north, Neulliac in the east, in the southeast Pontivy, Malguénac in the south and Séglien and Silfiac in the West.

The place is a bit out of lines for inter-regional traffic. Through the community, the D18 performs as the main road link. The main national road links are the D700/D768 (formerly Route nationale 168), which passes more than ten kilometers south-east, and the N164 in the North.

The major bodies of water are the Blavet River and the streams Fontaine de la Trinité, Stanglhuern and Kerdrean. The Blavet also forms part of the boundary of the municipality. In the north of the parish, there are large forests - the Petit Boduic, the Grand Boduic and Quénécan.

Demographics

History

The municipality belongs to the historic region of Brittany Bro Gwened (French Vannetais ) and within this region to region Bro Pondi (French Pays de Pontivy ) and shares his story. Since 1793 Cléguérec is the capital of its own canton.
