Clinton Township is a charter township in Macomb County, Michigan, United States in the metropolitan area of Detroit directly east of Sterling Heights.

The area was settled in 1782, founded in 1818 as Huron Township by an adjacent river, in conflict with the actual Huron River in 1824 but renamed in honor of DeWitt Clinton, together with an adjacent river. In 1989, the Township as a Charter Township, a distinctive feature of the State of Michigan, further privileges.

There is a partnership with the Japanese city of Yasu.
