Coglio

Coglio is a former municipality in the district of Valle Maggia the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. The town is located on the left side of the Maggia river, about 20 km north of Locarno.

The village lies at an altitude of 357 m.s.l.m. and is now part of the established church in April 2004 Maggia. It is north of Locarno.

History

First mentioned in 1237 as Cono. Even today one can find many houses from the 17th and 18th centuries. It can also be seen other examples of rural culture.
