Colin Stuart ( born July 8, 1982 in Rochester, Minnesota ) is an American professional ice hockey player who is since July 2013 at the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Colin Stuart began his career as a hockey player with the Lincoln Stars, for which he was active in the 1999/2000 season in the United States Hockey League. Then the attacker played four years for the team of the Colorado College. During this time he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2001 in the fifth round as the 135th overall player of the Atlanta Thrashers. In the years 2004 to 2007 Stuart was exclusively in the squad of the Chicago Wolves, the farm team of the Thrashers from the American Hockey League, with whom he won the 2008 Calder Cup. For the 2007 /08 season Stuart was also for the NHL team the Thrashers on the ice. On 1 July 2009 he transferred this together with Garnet Exelby in exchange for Pavel Kubina and Tim Stapleton to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

In the same month gave him the Maple Leafs to Calgary Flames from, for their farm team Abbotsford Heat of the attackers in the season 2009/10 was active. In August 2010, the free agent received a contract with the Buffalo Sabres, who initially put him with the Portland Pirates in the AHL. On July 7, 2011, signed Stuart, who had become a free agent again, but once a contract for one year at the Buffalo Sabres. From 18 September 2012, he played for the Iserlohn Roosters in the DEL ( German Ice Hockey League ). For the 2013/14 season Stuart signed a contract with the Vancouver Canucks.
