Connor Chapman

Connor Edward Chapman ( born October 31, 1994, Sydney ) is an Australian football player who plays as a central defender for Newcastle United Jets in the Australian A- League.

Career

Childhood and youth

Chapman grew up in southern Western Sydney and joined his first football team at the age of five years. The age of ten he entered successfully in the football program of Westfields Sports High School; he also started playing for the selection of the Southern District. At the age of eleven he took part in Darwin with the New South Wales Primary Schools at the Australian School Sports Football carnival. Two years later, he represented New South Wales Football with the Football Federation Australia National Youth Championships in Coffs Harbour.

As a 14 -year-old Connor Chapman was invited for the first time in a training camp of an Australian national football team, where he was employed in two friendly matches against Japan. In the same year he received a scholarship from the Academy of Central Coast Mariners, since it is connected to the Westfields Sports High School. In addition, he was invited to a training camp of Sunderland AFC reserve and academy. Connor Chapman changed on 15 January 2012 on the Newcastle United Jets after he signed a contract for two and a half years.
