Consadole Sapporo
Consadole Sapporo (Japaneseコンサドーレ 札幌, Konsadōre Sapporo ) is a Japanese football club from the city of Sapporo. Currently the club plays in the first division of Japan, the J. League Division 1
Club history
The club was founded in 1935 as Toshiba Horikawa -chō Soccer- bu (東芝 堀川 町 サッカー 部, dt " Toshiba Horikawa Club " ), 1980 in Toshiba Soccer- bu (東芝 サッカー 部, dt " Toshiba Club " ) renamed and consisted in this form until 1995. in the second division two years later it rose in 1978, even in the first division. Originally played the Toshiba SC in Kawasaki, where at that time also Verdy Kawasaki (now Tokyo Verdy ) played. Therefore, the parent company Toshiba was considering a move to another city and decided in favor of Sapporo.
In 1995 the club played its last season under the name Toshiba SC and was renamed to the 1996 season in Consadole Sapporo - a portmanteau of reverse the syllables do- sa- n -ko as a proper name for born on Hokkaido and the reputation ole. Under the new name were abolished in 1997 promotion to the first division. For the 1999 season, play-off games were introduced between the last four teams in the first division, and the champion of the second division. Thus, the bankruptcy could be averted and Consadole 2000 rose up in the J. League Division 1.
There, the club held two years before he descended as Table and again in 2003 had debt in the nine -figure range. Consadole solved the crisis by selling well-paid players and plays today still in the second division.
2007 one was master of the J-League 2 and rose to the J-League 1, but the league had to leave as last place again after just one season. 2011 succeeded in re- promotion to the first division.
