Constantine Bruno, Baron Kervyn de Lettenhove

Joseph Marie Bruno Constantin Kervyn de Lettenhove ( born August 17, 1817 in Sint- Michiels, † April 2, 1891 ) was a Belgian politician and chronicler.

Joseph Maria Bruno Konstantin Kervyn de Lettenhove delivered several good editions of source texts, such as the Commentaires de Charles -Quint (Brussels 1862), the oeuvre de Georges Chastellain ( 1863-66, 8 vols ), the Chroniques de Froissart (1863 ff, 26 vols ) and the Lettres et de Philippe de Commines Trade Negotiations (1867, 3 vols ) and a Histoire de Flandre ( 1847-50, 6 vols, 3rd edition 1874, 4 vols ); Froissart; étude littéraire sur le XIV siècle (1858, 2 vols ), the latter work was crowned by the French Academy.

He was a member of the Belgian and the French Academy of Sciences and the Belgian Chamber of Representatives, in which he belongs to the clerical party; short period (1870 /71) he was also the Minister of Education.
