Coriant
Coriant is a successor of Nokia Siemens Optical GmbH, which in spring 2012 from a part of NSN GmbH & Co KG according Umstruktierungen and thus concomitant reduction in personnel (NSN has since after complete takeover by Nokia on August 7, 2013 Nokia Solutions and Networks renamed) was formed. In December 2012, the sale of the optical transmission business to Marlin Equity Partners was announced. On May 6, 2013 Coriant was independent of NSN owned by Marlin Equity Partners.
Company headquarters are in Munich in Germany with a holding company in Luxembourg ( Xieon Networks Solutions Sarl ).
The company sells the hardware and software components for optical transmission in the core network (core network - back bone ) of voice, data and mobile networks, mainly with the product lines hiT 7300 Optical Multiplexing DWDM over fiber optic cables, hiT 7100 for the electrical interconnection of optical paths and hiT 70xx for " multiservice provisioning ". For the management and planning of optical network components TNMS ( telecommunication network management system) and Transnet / Trans- Connect ( network planning ) are offered.

Below the Coriant GmbH & Co. KG in Germany the Coriant GmbH (Munich HRB 201750 ) and the Coriant R & D GmbH (Munich HRB 197143 ) organized as a 100 % - owned subsidiaries. Coriant is represented with development centers in Portugal Amadora / Lisbon ( Coriant Portugal, Unipessoal Lda ), Germany (Munich), Shanghai, China ( for the time being still part of Nokia Siemens Networks ) and in the U.S. Irving (Texas ) and Bedminster Township (New Jersey). The production is located in Berlin, Germany.

History and Technology
Coriant comes from the area of technology transfer from ( OT, as he was called in the 1990s ) of Siemens AG, Munich had its location. At this time, the transfer of PDH to SONET / SDH took place on the levels of the hierarchy STM-4 / STM -16 ( 2.5 Gbit / s). In the late 1990s and the early 2000s DWDM came on, even higher transfer rates allowed ( in the range of terabits per second).
