Cowdenbeath F.C.

The Cowdenbeath FC ( officially: Cowdenbeath Football Club ) is a Scottish football club from Cowdenbeath. The club plays in the First Division, the second highest in the Scottish football league.

Club history

The Cowdenbeath FC was founded in 1881 from the two clubs Rangers and Cowdenbeath Cowdenbeath Thistle and is the oldest club in the region of Fife. The club joined the Scottish League in 1905, 1914 and 1915, twice champion of 2nd league, but was not allowed to rise due to the former system of selection. 1924 managed Cowdenbeath as league runner-up promotion to the top flight and reached there at first to fifth place. After ten years followed the descent, the 1939 re- ascent followed, but was interrupted by the outbreak of the Second World War to keep on playing. After taking the game service after the war, Cowdenbeath, was controversial enough, then converted back to the 2nd league. Was not until the 1970 re- promotion to the top league, but rose again from Cowdenbeath directly.

After the end of the 2005/06 season the club as a master rose again on the 3rd league. It was the first league title since 67 years.
