Croatia Records

Croatia Records is the largest major label in Croatia, which has its headquarters in Dubrava, near the capital, Zagreb. The history of the music company goes back to 1924. In 1990 the label changed the name to Croatia Records.

Croatia Records is the largest record label in the country and currently employs 43 people (as of 2011). By 1990 the company was active under the name Jugoton. The label has artists from all sorts of genres under contract, including some participants in the Euro Vision Song Contest.

History

1924-1947: history

Croatia Records was founded in 1947 in Zagreb (then Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, now Croatia's capital ). Jugoton was known for its publications known Yugoslav musicians and bands. The label distribution of its publications throughout the Republic of Yugoslavia. The roots of the label, however, go back to the year 1924, the founders sold as their first releases in a small shop. By 1938, the label was like the little shop selling Edison - Bell, then the company was renamed electron after the possessions was changed. In 1947, the ownership changed again and the label was named Jugoton.

1947-1990: Jugoton

Jugoton was renamed to Croatia Records in 1990, the largest music company in the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. Jugoton counts as the most important music company of the Yugoslav culture to Yugo- nostalgia. In Skopje, the Macedonian capital markets the Macedonian label lithium Records the Jugoton Record Shop.

In Vienna, Austria, there is also an online radio and web TV station that operates under this name. This plays music from the former Yugoslavia, but also modern pop and rock music of today states that have emerged from the Republic. However, between this station and the former label Jugoton no connection, not all the artists who were with the company under contract to be played.

In Jugoton many musicians were also several participants of the Euro Vision Song Contest, including the winners from 1989, Riva, under contract. Other artists were:

Jugoton was editor of the compilation album package aranžman. The label also sold Publications by world-renowned artists such as The Beatles, David Bowie, Kate Bush, Deep Purple, Eurythmics, Iron Maiden, Kraftwerk, John Lennon, Madonna, Gary Moore, Motley Crue, Elvis Presley, Pink Floyd, Public Image Limited, Queen, The Rolling Stones, Scorpions, U2 and Whitesnake in Yugoslavia.

Since 1990: Croatia Records

Since 1990 is called the label Croatia Records, and is the largest music company in Croatia. 79 percent of total revenue coming from sales on the Croatian market; the remaining 21 percent comes from sales in the international music market. The catalog of the label includes over 65,000 productions. Croatia Records produced more than 1.3 million annual productions.

Other major labels from the former Yugoslav Republic PGB -RTB, Jugodisk (both in Belgrade ), Suzy Records from Zagreb, Diskoton from Sarajevo, the SCC RTLJ and Založba kaset in plošč RTV Ljubljana (both from Ljubljana). In 2005, the television station Croatian Music Channel has started. Operator is the author doo, which is also the majority shareholder of the label. In 2007 the label won the Porin.

Croatia Records has signed a cooperation agreement with Sony DADC to the artists a better production to provide the highest level.
