Cuba women's national volleyball team

The Cuban national volleyball team of women is a selection of the best Cuban players, the Federación Cubana de Voleibol represented in international tournaments and international matches.

History

World Championships

Cuba took first time in 1970 at a volleyball World Cup finals and finished eighth. At the following tournament, the Cubans increased to seventh place. In 1978 she was the first world champion in the final against Japan. After a fifth place in 1982 they reached the final again in 1986, where they lost against China. 1990 there were a fourth place. 1994 brought the Cubans against hosts Brazil to their second World Cup title she defended four years later against China. In the tournaments in 2002, 2006 and 2010, there were places with five, seven and twelve poorer results.

Olympic games

In Munich in 1972, Cuba was the first time in the Olympic tournament there and finished sixth. For the Games in 1976 and 1980, the Cubans were fifth. NORCECA Championships

World Cup
