Curt Smith

Curt Smith ( * June 24, 1961 in Bath, Somerset, England ) is a British singer. His greatest successes came in the 1980s with the band Tears For Fears.

Life

Curt Smith grew up in Bath as a middle child of three siblings. His mother named him after the actor Curd Jürgens. Smith is married to his second wife Frances, both have two children, Diva and Wilder.

Musical Career

Curt Smith played with his friend Roland Orzabal the late 1970s in a formation called Graduate. Since both were unhappy with the situation in the band, they formed in 1981 with Ian Stanley and Emmanuel " Manny" Elias Tears For Fears. After three successful albums and great worldwide success Smith left the band due to tensions in 1990 to continue working solo from now on.

Appeared in 1993 with Soul on board his first solo album, which had no notable success. After moving to New York City, he and Charlton Pettus, the band Mayfield, first as a pure live project before their debut album brought out in 1997. A year later, both moved with their families to Los Angeles, where Smith 2001 with the work on his next album Halfway, please began.

Due to the renewed approach to his former Tears -for- Fears - companion Roland Orzabal and work on the 2004 published comeback album Everybody Loves a Happy Ending, which was also Charlton Pettus was involved, took the completion of his third solo album until 2008. On 24 January 2010 was released his solo single All Is Love. In 2010, the Mayfield album was re- released under his own name with a bonus track. 2012 appeared the two download tracks This is Christmas and Perfectly ... still on iTunes. The album Deceptively Heavy published in the summer 2013.

Besides his work in popular music Curt Smith also writes music for television and the theater stage.
