Curva Municipality

The municipality Curva is a district in the department of La Paz in the South American Andes State of Bolivia.

Location in near space

The municipality Curva is one of two Municipalities of the province of Bautista Saavedra and is located in the western part of the province. It is bordered to the north and west by the Province Franz Tamayo, in the south and east by the municipality of Charazani.

The central location of the municipality is Curva with 523 inhabitants ( 2001 census ) in the southern part of the county.

Geography

The municipality Curva is located on the Bolivian Altiplano in the Cordillera Apolobamba, the northern section of the Bolivian Cordillera Central. The region has a pronounced diurnal climate where the temperature variations during the day be stronger than during the year.

The mean average temperature of the region is about 13 ° C and thus 2 ° C lower than in neighboring Charazani (see climate chart Charazani ), the monthly average temperatures vary only slightly between 10 ° C in June / July and 15 ° C from November to February. The annual rainfall is around 750 mm, the monthly rainfall range from less than 20 mm from June to August and from 100 to 140 mm from December to March.
