Dan Alexa

Dan Alexa ( born October 28, 1979 in Caransebeş, district Caras -Severin ) is a Romanian football player at the position of midfielder. Since the summer of 2012, he plays for Anorthosis Famagusta in the Cypriot First Division.

Career

Alexa began his career at UMT Timisoara, but he came in his first season in the first team squad to no use. In 1999 he moved to Rocar Bucharest, a former first division. In his first full season the club was in Divizia A (now League 1) twelfth. In the following season, Alexa played with Rocar only the first round. During the winter break, he moved to league rivals FC Universitatea Craiova, where he remained for half a year before he was hired for Dinamo Bucharest. In his first season with Dinamo Alexa reached the sixth place, but could win the Romanian Cup. In the season 2003/ 04 is the double of league and cup followed.

Then the midfielder left home and moved to China for Beijing Guoan. According to a sixth place in the championship, he returned in the spring of 2005/06 season to Dinamo back and the club was with Alexa at the end of the season third parties.

In summer 2006, he wrote again in his parent club, which is now played in the highest Romanian league. After the sixth place in 2007 and the sixth in 2008 he was able to win the runner-up and then to qualify for the Champions League qualifiers, where the club 2009/10 failed at VfB Stuttgart in the 2008/ 09 season. The season 2010/11 he was again able to finish with his team behind Oţelul Galaţi as runner-up. After his club had been denied admission to the 2011/12 season in the summer, he moved to league rivals Rapid Bucharest. With Rapid he could finish the season in fourth place, which meant qualification for the Europa League. There he had previously reached with his team in the group stage. In the Romanian Cup final in 2012, he missed by a 0-1 against Dinamo Bucharest his third Cup win.

Alexa left in the summer of 2012, Romania joined the Cypriot first division club Anorthosis Famagusta.

National

In the Romanian national Alexa debuted on 27 May 2004 in a friendly against Ireland. Previously, he was already the beginning of 2004 in the squad for a tournament in Cyprus. His two missions are not counted as official internationals. After that he was more than six years is not taken into account, before Razvan Lucescu called him into his squad for the friendly against Italy on 17 November 2010 and einwechselte him in the 80th minute for Adrian Ropotan. In the game against Ukraine in a tournament in Cyprus, he scored on February 8, 2011, both hits for a 2-2 draw and so his first international goals.

After he was in the starting in the European Championship qualifier against Bosnia- Herzegovina, he was not taken into account three days later against Luxembourg Lucescu. On a trip to South America in June 2011 Alexa came to two short sessions. After the subsequent farewell Lucescu he was no longer considered by his successor Victor Piţurcă.
