Dance of December Souls is the first studio album by the Swedish metal band Katatonia.

Genesis

The album was released in 1993 by No Fashion Records on CD and from Helion Records on LP. In 2004, the album under the label Black Lodge with a new artwork, which is not supported by the band for personal reasons, however, was re-released. In 2007, the album was released again, this time by Peaceville Records with a blue version of the original covers, and all five songs EP Jhva Elohim Meth ... The Revival as bonus tracks. The music was composed by Anders Nyström, while the lyrics of Jonas Renkse come.

Petrified In the self-designation as " Sorrowfilled and harmonous Northern Dark Metal " was designated as the most accurate and Katatonia as one of the most original bands in Sweden. The plaintive and rough vocals were also praised as the dark and eerie lyrics.
