Style

Katatonias characteristic blend of Gothic Rock and Dark Metal is easily developed on Night Is the New Day. In the often bulky - but overall a bit quieter - to find pieces of melancholic melodies, heavy riffs, electronic effects, a pronounced dynamism and change between peaceful and aggressive passages. In addition to hints of progressive rock show with the walls of guitar and sound surfaces now also influences from post-rock.

On metal.de is praised: " The songs seem to work much better, far more delicate and passages, to an almost comical way, which is led by the band itself with strong riff and guitar wall Boliden ad absurdum, fragile. " January Fleckhaus by Metal hammer says: "Never Katatonia were mellow, mellow. Some might legitimately complain about the contrary difficult to access older albums [ ... ]. It is a quiet album that reveals its strengths gradually. "
