Style

Also on Last Fair Deal Gone Down Katatonias is characteristic mixture of gothic rock and dark metal evolved with melancholic melodies and heavy riffs. New are now some echoes of the alternative rock or the style of The Cure and the use of both the Mellotron and electronic sounds. The dynamics and the switching between quiet verses and choruses are pronounced more intense, the pace is overall slightly higher than on the two previous albums. The dense and emotional atmosphere is no longer exclusively characterized by melancholy and despair.
