Davey von Bohlen

Davey von Bohlen ( born August 11, 1975 in Milwaukee ) is an American Emo and indie rock musician and songwriter. He is currently the frontman for Maritime. He is known for his stage presence and his decisive contributions to the development of the Emo scene.

Career

As a teenager, Davey von Bohlen was a member of the legendary emocore band Cap'n Jazz, in which also the brothers Mike and Tim Kinsella Kinsella, Victor Villarreal, and Sam Zurick played, all in the Chicago scene should set the tone later. After its dissolution in 1995, he founded the band The Promise Ring, with the he recorded several successful long-player. In 1999, he launched another project under the name of Vermont, in which the sound of the current lineup Maritime also has its origin. 2001 von Bohlen also sang in the studio recording of Jimmy Eat World's Bleed American album, with the song A Praise Chorus.

In April 2002, a brain tumor was discovered at Davey von Bohlen, who had led to recurrent headaches for two years. The tumor was surgically removed and proved to be benign, so that van Bohlen could later go back into the studio and even go on tour.
