Dead Combo
Dead Combo is a band from Portugal.
History
After they both played in various bands previous ( Tó Trips about Lulu blind), she started in 2001 to make music together after they met Howe Gelb better after a concert in Lisbon. In 2002 she started as Dead Combo and to play with the eponymous concept atmospheric, mostly instrumental music with morbid charm. In 2003, she published the first music under her own name, a contribution to the tribute project for Carlos Paredes ( 1925-2004 ), a master of the Portuguese guitar. Since then, the band is called essentially 2003 as the founding year.
Your 2004 released album Vol 1 has received many good reviews about the title "Album of the Year" by the newspaper Público. The author and BBC radio DJ Charlie Gillet it chose the piece Rombero for his compilation The Sound of the World 2005 The second album Vol.2 -. Quando a Alma Não é Pequena was in many Portuguese newspapers "Album of the Year", and " album of the Month " for Charlie Gillet.
The band performed as a result more and more often live on, even in some of the most important festivals in Portugal, the Festa do Avante! 2011 in Paredes de Coura, and the FMM Sines, where she worked with Marc Ribot stood on the stage in 2012.

Internationally, the band played frequently, 2011 in Prague and Budapest. At the Cannes Film Festival in 2012, she played the premiere of the film Cosmopolis, which produced by Paulo Branco film directed by David Cronenberg. Style
Dead Combo combine elements of rock ' n ' roll with jazz and blues, but also with Fado or Coladeira. They create their mostly instrumental, very acoustic songs peaceful sounds.
