Den Chai District
Amphoe Den Chai ( Thai อำเภอ เด่นชัย ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the southeastern province of Phrae in Northern Thailand.
Geography
Neighboring districts (from west clockwise): Amphoe Wang Chin the Long and Sung Men in the province of Phrae, Amphoe Mueang Uttaradit and the Laplae in the province of Uttaradit, and Amphoe Si Satchanalai in the province of Sukhothai
History
The Chai was born on January 24, 1963 zunäcgst as sub-district ( King Amphoe ) of the circle Sung Men furnished. In 1965, the Chai got the full Amphoe status.
The Chai assumed greater importance after the government had the Northern railway line built by the county.
Management
The circle is divided into five subdistricts (tambon ), which are divided further into 52 villages ( Muban ).
There are two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:
- The Chai ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล เด่นชัย ) consists of parts of the tambon Chai, Mae Chua and Pong Pa Wai,
- Mae Chua ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล แม่ จั๊วะ ) consists of parts of the tambon Mae Chua.
There are also five " Tambon Administrative Organizations" ( TAO - administrative units ).
