Dennis Burkley

Henry Dennis Burkley ( born September 10, 1945 in Van Nuys, California, † July 14, 2013 in Sherman Oaks, California ) was an American actor.

Life

Dennis Henry Burkley was born in 1945 as son of Imogene goods and Henry Burkley in Van Nuys, California. He grew up in Grand Prairie, Texas. He studied acting and received in 1968 a Master of Fine Arts at Texas Christian University. He then moved to Los Angeles, where he concentrated on his film career and held side jobs afloat. Since he also worked as a pool cleaner of film director Bob Rafelson, this casted him for his feature film Mr. Universe, among others, the then-unknown Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Due to its size of 1.91 m, its weight of more than 150 kilograms, his southern accent and his pronounced facial hair Burkley was often cast as a villain, Rocker or gangster. Through this type casting Burkley was a prolific supporting actor in well over 100 productions. He was often confused with actor Mickey Jones.
