Deštnice

Deštnice ( German Teschnitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. You more than twelve kilometers southeast of Žatec and belongs to Okres Louny.

Geography

Deštnice is located in the northwest of the country on Džbán mountain brook Sádecký creek. To the north rises the Sádecký vrch (422 m), in the northeast of Výrov ( High Look, 509 m), in the east of Špičák ( Spitzberg, 488 m) and pískový vrch ( Sandberg, 526 m), in the southeastern Lišák (462 m ), west of the Černocký vrch (419 m) ​​and the Želečský výšina (428 m) and in the northwest of the Holý vrch ( 382 m). West of the village leads the railway line Praha- Chomutov vorbeo, the station is half a kilometer south of the village.

Neighboring towns are Sádek, Nový Dvůr and Lhota in the north, Nečemice in the northeast, Domoušice and Filipov in the east, Kounov and Janov in the southeast, Svojetín, Nová Hospoda and Velka Cernoc in the south, Malá Cernoc the southwest, Soběchleby in the west and Želeč in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village was carried out in 1368 as part of the purchase by Henry of Bezděkov. Subsequent owner was at the beginning of the 15th century Mikuláš Hrzek. After that belonged to the village and the feasts of Hlaváč Deštnice. He was followed by Tvoch Nedvídkov. Then changed over a hundred years the owners in rapid succession to Bohuslav Felix von Lobkowitz and Hassenstein 1552 goods bought up and slammed his reign Líčkov, which is then remained 300 years. In the Berni rula 1654 listed for Teschnitz 14 estate. All residents were hop farmers and wore German name. 1787 consisted of 52 houses Teschnitz.

After the abolition of patrimonial Teschnitz / Desnice formed in 1850 a municipality in the district of Saaz. At this time, the village had 364 inhabitants. On February 4, 1871, the route from Prague to Chomutov was inaugurated by the Buštěhrad Railway. At Teschnitz the train went by. The station Satkau - Teschnitz was four kilometers away from Teschnitz in the forest. The volunteer fire department was established in 1872. 1880, the population had grown to 591. On 1 May 1903, the new station was opened at Teschnitz and 1905 began the two-track operation between Satkau and grace village, and at the same time between Michelob and Trnowan.

1925 acquired the Ministry of Agriculture of Czechoslovakia the Dreher Meiergut and built an experimental station in hops ( Výzkumná stanice chmelařská ). This led to protests from the German national peasantry in Parliament, demanding a German Hop Research Institute and the publication of official reports in German language. 1930, the municipality had Teschnitz 620 inhabitants, of whom 471 German and 149 Czechs. At that time consisted of two Teschnitz German and a Czech school. From 1931 headed Karel Osvald the experimental station. After the Munich Agreement in 1938, the site added to the German Reich and belonged until 1945 to the district Saaz. The thereupon ordered by the Ministry of Agriculture in Prague laying of the experimental station after Rakovníka could be realized only in October 1939. The Czech population left because of the onset of disadvantages the village and pulled over near the frontier into Czechoslovakia. 1939 lived only 540 people in the community. After the end of World War II Deštnice came back to Czechoslovakia and the German population was expelled. After the abandoned village was looted. Oswald had returned to the farm after the war and led tough negotiations for the return of the Experimental Station for hops after Deštnice, which took place in 1947. 1946/47, Reemigranten were settled from Volhynia and some immigrants from the hinterland and Slovakia. 1950 Deštnice had 337 inhabitants.

With the beginning of 1961 was the annexation of Sádek, at the same time the place was assigned to the Okres Louny. In 1980 Deštnice 216 inhabitants. Between 1981 and 1990 Deštnice and Sádek were incorporated to Mecholupy. After the dissolution of the state farm ended on 10 June 1992, the activities of the Research Station for hops. The estate was privatized and the CHMELAŘ sro founded in 1994 as a joint venture with the brewery Sapporo, Nichietsu Corporation and TOP HOP Ltd. VF HUMULUS s.r.o. founded and operates two experimental fields. 1997 built V.F. to HUMULUS a new research laboratory.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the villages Deštnice Deštnice ( Teschnitz ) and Sádek ( Satkau ), at the same time also form Katastralbezirke. To Deštnice also includes the settlements Evik and Nová Hospoda ( Neuwirthaus ).
