Devaux Coupe

Devaux Cars is an Australian automotive manufacturer based in Beaconsfield. The company was founded by industrial designer David J. Clash. Clash chose the company name Devaux after the maiden name of his mother. The company has no connection with the vehicles of the U.S. De Vaux Motors Company from the 1930s.

With the work on the first and only vehicle model, the Devaux Coupé, Clash began in the late 1980s - first in a backyard workshop. With the increasing success of his design company and the work on the vehicle went forward. The early 2000s, the first prototype was completed, production began in 2001.

The vehicle is based on the design to those of the French coachbuilders of the 1930s. It is powered by a 4.0 -liter V6 engine from Ford, or alternatively by a 3.4 -liter V6 engine from Jaguar. With a purchase price of AU $ 168,000 the Devaux Coupé is part of the luxury car class.

The vehicle is so far produced only right-hand drive and not officially offered in the EU. The seventh -made vehicle was imported but after Germany and delivered in Hamburg.
