Diocese of Helsinki

The Diocese of Helsinki (Finnish: Helsingin hiippakunta ) is a diocese of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland.

The Diocese is one of nine dioceses of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland. The diocese was founded in 1959 by division of the Diocese of Tampere. In 2002, the western area of the diocese was separated and as another diocese, the Diocese of Espoo was born. The Diocese of Helsinki includes the Finnish-speaking parishes in the Eastern Uusimaa. Bishopric is the Helsinki Cathedral.
