Distinctive Software

Distinctive Software, Inc. ( DSI) was founded in 1982 by games programmers Don Mattrick and Jeff Sember Canadian game development company. The company was founded after Mattrick and Sember with their game published in 1982, evolution had had success. Most games were released on the publisher Accolade. The company's headquarters was Vancouver. 1988 a separate company was founded for the ports, Unlimited software. Distinctive Software was the end of the 1980s, best known for its ports, racing games and sports games, including the game Test Drive series and stunts. The basic code for Test Drive from 1987 was also used for The Duel: International Grand Prix Racing used from the year 1989: Test Drive II, Grand Prix Circuit from 1988 and The Cycles.

DSI also developed sports games like 4D Sports Boxing and Hardball! .

In 1991, Electronic Arts bought Distinctive Software for about 11 million U.S. dollars. The company was renamed EA Canada.
