Dlouhý Újezd

Dlouhy Újezd ​​( German Langendörflas ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located three kilometers south of Tachov at an altitude of 527 m asl in the Upper Palatinate Forest ( Český les ).

History

The first mention of Langendörflas dates from 1361., The place was part of the Tachauer vassals Association. The small castle was rebuilt in the Middle Ages in a castle. From 1766 to 1850 the village belonged to the manorial Tachau, whereas it was also the parish. The place has some stone carvings of the master stonemason Georg Böhm from Studánka ( Schönbrunn ).

In the place a small Jewish community was established in the 18th and 19th centuries there was a synagogue. Dlouhy Újezd ​​has a preserved Jewish cemetery, which was created in the 18th century and is reminiscent of the Jewish population. 1939 629 people lived in the place.
