Dobromyl

Dobromyl (Ukrainian Добромиль; Добромыль Russian, Polish Dobromil ) is a city located in western Ukraine, 4 km from the Polish- Ukrainian border.

Dobromyl was mentioned in 1374 for the first time in writing as a village. In 1566 it became a town. Under the existing Austrian rule since 1772, the city came to Galicia and was of a short time from 1850 to 1854 and then from 1876 to 1918 the seat of a district team. After the First World War, the city came as Dobromil to Poland and was here in 1921 in the Province of Lviv. Since 1945 she is part of the Ukraine.

Galicia German settlement Engelsbrunn

North of the village existed galicia the German settlement Engelsbrunn ( divided into upper west gelegenere Engelsbrunn and the east gelegeneren Under Engelsbrunn ), this was in 1867 incorporated into what was then Dobromil and is now a part of the city Dobromyl. The site was created in the wake of Emperor Joseph colonization in 1784, the last German inhabitants were expelled in 1940 due to the German - Soviet Border and Friendship Treaty.
