Geography

Districts

The municipality is divided into seven districts Döhlau:

  • Döhlau
  • Kautendorf
  • Lahm Reuth
  • Neutauperlitz
  • Neudöhlau
  • Stumpfhof
  • Tauperlitz

Stumpfhof and Lahm Reuth consist of agricultural properties. Neutauperlitz has grown together with Tauperlitz, Erlalohe only a few meters away. Neudöhlau and Lahm Reuth lie far outside of Döhlau.

History

The first mention of Döhlau dates from the year in 1348. The place is eponymous for the gender of the Rabenstein to Döhlau. The family of Uttenhofen sat on the motte Tauperlitz, which was destroyed around 1343. In Döhlau the Lords of Pühel owned a manor. The town fell to the Hohenzollern ( Prussian since 1791 ) Principality of Bayreuth in the Peace of Tilsit in 1807 to France and came in 1810 to the Kingdom of Bavaria. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818, the current community.

Incorporations

On 1 May 1978, the formerly independent municipality Tauperlitz and parts of the disbanded community Kautendorf were incorporated ( with a portion of the recorded on 1 January 1972 community Draisdorf ).

The Quellitzsee

In the district Tauperlitz is the Quellitzsee. It was dammed in the 1970s and serves as a recreational area. There is a lawn with a baby pool and a shallow area, tennis and football facilities. On the last weekend of the month of June, the Tauperlitzer Lake Festival with rides, beer tent and beer garden and a fireworks display.

Personalities

Sons and daughters of the town

  • In the district Tauperlitz the writer and actress Thea von Harbou was born on December 27, 1888. She died on 1 July 1954 in Berlin.
  • In the district Döhlau the painter Theodor Alt was born on 23 January 1846. He died on 8 October 1937 in Ansbach.
