Domecko

Dometzko, Polish Domecko, is a village in Poland in the community Comprachtschütz in powiat Opolski. It is located in Upper Silesia in the Opole Voivodeship.

History

The place was first mentioned in 1300.

In the plebiscite in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921 467 voters voted to remain in Germany and 220 for Poland. Dometzko remained with the German Reich. 1933 lived 1,251 residents in the town. On 19 May 1936, the town was renamed in Althaus. 1939, the place had 1,332 inhabitants. By 1945, the place was in the district of Opole.

In 1945 the previously German place under Polish administration and renamed Domecko and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950, the city came to Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place to re-founded powiat Opolski. On 1 December 2009, the City also received the official German place names Dometzko.
