The Dominican Peso is the currency of the Dominican Republic. One peso is divided into 100 centavos. The code according to ISO 4217 is DOP.

The Dominican Peso is a wholly domestic currency and may not be executed.

Prices are often rounded to whole when paying peso or the change will be paid in kind (eg, candy ). In large supermarkets are also coins as change usual.

Currently the following denominations are in circulation:

Coins: 1, 5, 10, 25 pesos

Banknotes: 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000, 2000 pesos
