Donnersbachwald is a municipality with 317 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the judicial district Liezen and Liezen in Styria. From 1 January 2015 it has joined forces framework of the Styrian municipality structural reform with the communities thunder creek and Irdning, the new community will be called " Irdning Donnersbachtal ".

Incorporations
As part of the Styrian community structure reform the church will be Donnersbachwald fused (at the latest in 2015) with the communities thunder creek and Irdning.
History
The abolition of the manorial system was carried out in 1848., The local church as an autonomous body was established in 1850. After the annexation of Austria in 1938 the congregation to Reichsgau Styria came from 1945 to 1955 it was part of the British zone of occupation in Austria.
The mayor is Erwin Petz ( SPÖ). The council is made up after the elections of 2010 are as follows: 7 SPÖ, ÖVP 2.
Coat of arms
The award of the municipality coat of arms came into effect on 1 August 2002. Blazon (Coat of Arms description): "Between red shield flanks, the front with five silver clover leaves, the rear occupied by a nine-membered silver cattle chain is in green midfield between ascending from the sign foot silver pile strips a silver dreispitziger mountain with increased central tip of an archaic dome of silver rubble inflated with high black rectangular door opening. "
Culture and sights
- Parish Church of Sts. Leonhard and Patritius: In the years 1753/54 Donnersbachwald received at the instigation and with the financial support of the Empress Maria Theresa, a small church and its own chaplaincy ( Vicariate ). As a patron of the church, the cattle cartridge Leonhard and Patritius were selected. For the high altar of the church of Maria Theresa donated a painting of Mary with the Child Jesus and the two church cartridges, in which it is a particularly quality- full work of the Viennese painter and Imperial and Royal Academy Director Michael Angelo Unterberger. The side altar is adorned with a copy of the miraculous image of Our Lady of Good Counsel.
Economy and infrastructure
The community lives mostly in the summer and winter tourism with 950 beds. The tourism promotion marketing itself with the term Energy village of Dachstein Tauern region. Ski is the Riesneralp, on the from 10 to 15 March 2009, the 12th FAI World Championships were held Paraski.
