Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1941 film)

Doctor and demon is an American film directed by Victor Fleming from the year 1941. This is the twelfth of more than 50 adaptations of the novel The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1886 ) by Robert Louis Stevenson and at the same time to the remake of Rouben Mamoulians version Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde from the year 1931.

Action

Dr. Jekyll believes that in every human good and evil lives. His experiments that should separate these properties, call its dark side out called Hyde. Experience teaches him how evil can be Mr. Hyde: he kills Ivy Peterson, the interest in Dr. Jekyll has shown, and Sir Charles, the father of his fiancée. At the end of shoots Jekyll's best friend Mr. Hyde and causes therefore, that Dr. Jekyll has to die also, as Hyde is a part of him.

Awards

The film was nominated for the Academy Awards in 1942 for three Academy Awards - Best Cinematography (Joseph Ruttenberg ), Best Editing ( Harold F. Kress ) and Best Original Score (Franz Waxman ) - but came away empty.

German version

The synchronization was built in 1949 by the Motion Picture Export Organisation. The dialog book comes from Kurt Hinz, dialogue directed by Alfred Vohrer.
