Dragonball (Anime)
Dragon Ball (Japaneseドラゴンボール, Doragon Boru ) is the first of three television series, which is based on the eponymous manga by Akira Toriyama. For the first broadcasts on Japanese TV on the television station Fuji TV from 26 February 1986 to April 12, 1989 a total of 153 episodes were produced by the animation studio Toei, have been exported worldwide and broadcast through a custom synchronization in local television stations. In addition to the television series of four movies were still in production.
The action continues in the television series Dragon Ball Z, which is also based on the manga.

Production information
All episodes of the series created and directed by Daisuke Nishio according to the scripts of Takao Koyama, who largely stuck to the manga template by Akira Toriyama. The designs for the characters provided Akira Toriyama himself in collaboration with Minoru Maeda.
The opening and closing credits melodies with the titles " Makafushigi Adobenchā " (摩訶不思議 アドベンチャー! ) Arranged for the opening credits and " Romantikku Ageru Yo " (ロマンティック あげる よ) for the credits, were divided into two or four versions of Kohei Tanaka and composed by Takeshi Ike. The written by Yuriko Mori lyrics sang Hiroki Takashashi in the opening credits, while the closing credits of Ushio Hashimoto was sung.

The episodes, produced by Toei Animation were first aired from 26 February 1986 at a weekly basis on the Japanese television station Fuji TV, where they remained in the program until April 12, 1989. With the end of the series, the sequel took over the time slot, but before the end came this to Europe and was broadcast synchronized shortened from 3 March, 1988 in France on TF1 with French dialogues. Furthermore, the series in Belgium, Greece, Italy, Spain and Poland, but also outside Europe in Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, Thailand, the United States and other countries could be seen.

Synchronization
With the success in Japan, the series where the series came in 1988 by the Licensee Distribution AB to France, including reduced, by the creation of a new shortened intros and Abspannes to about 20 of the original 25 minutes per episode, translated in French and has been synchronized from the studio SOFI. However, some episodes were reduced subsequently by the French licensee, mainly allegedly obscene scenes concerned. The television channel RTL II bought in 1999 the German broadcast rights and started broadcasting the series with the already ready-cut French bands, but with German dialogs from the 30th August of the year. However, there were additional reductions by RTL II in episodes 1 and 4 to 7 uncut German version, which included the French still edits, was broadcast from June 2007 until episode 109 on the station Animax.
The German version of the series was produced by Splendid Synchron GmbH under the direction of Cay -Michael Wolf and Charlotte Louise Brings. The three films for the series were like Dragon Ball Z already produced at the MME Studios GmbH in Berlin.
In the course of translations both versions of the Japanese intros were (摩訶不思議 アドベンチャー! ) " Makafushigi Adobenchā! " - German for " Mystical Adventure " ( sung by Hiroki Takahashi ) - by the title " The Secret of the Dragon Balls " ( sung by Renate Haßlberger ) replaced. At the title The Secret of the Dragon Balls also a three-minute music video with the singer was produced.
In the sequences 1 to 53 of the German version, many terms were Germanized. So the fighting technique Kamehame -Ha called at the beginning of the anime series still "shock wave of ancient ancestors ," Son - Goku Jindujun was called " supersonic cloud". Only from episode 54 there was a return to the original, Japanese terms.
In the German version the turtle (Japanese亀, kame ) has a female voice actor in Japanese or English version, however, a male.
German DVD release
Kazé will be published in spring 2012 in the series 6 DVD boxes. The first box has been released on 27 April 2012 and the other boxes will follow at 2- month intervals. It contains no original Japanese version with subtitles.

Movies
How to Dragon Ball Z were also produced for the series Dragon Ball Movies: The Legend of Shenlong, The Castle of the demons, Son - Goku's first tournament and the way to power. They represent an alternative action to manga or the TV series and are not new, secondary stories. Three of the Dragon Ball movies also released as an anime comic in Carlsen Manga.
The first three Dragon Ball movies released in Germany, Austria and Switzerland at first Polyband with German dubbing. On 30 September 2011 Anime Label Kazé has the first three films and the previously unreleased fourth film released as original version with subtitles in one complete box on DVD. The subtitle of the first three films was translated completely new from Kazé.
