Dubová, Pezinok District

Dubová ( until 1927 slovak " Dubové " or " Dubova "; German rarely Wernersdorf, Hungarian Cserfalu - to 1907 Dubova ) is a municipality in Bratislavskı Region in western Slovakia.

Geography

The place is located in the Danubian Lowland on Bach Žlabka, at the foothills of the Little Carpathians mountain under Kukla in the northwest (564 m nm). Dubová 4 km from Modra, 24 km from Trnava and 32 km from Bratislava.

History

The village was first mentioned in 1287 as Dumbo in writing; occasionally is also spoken by the year 1113, but is now considered wrong. Since the 16th century it belonged to the estate of Castle Red Stone. In 1549 it was burned down during the Turkish invasions, and only in 1590 resettled. The community was known from the beginning by the wine, beside the inhabitants are engaged with lime and charcoal burning.

Until 1918, the village in the county Pressburg the Kingdom of Hungary belonged and came afterwards to the newly formed Czechoslovakia, and now Slovakia.
