Düsedau is a district of the town Osterburg ( Altmark) in the district of Stendal, in Saxony- Anhalt, Germany.

Geography

Düsedau is located on the lamp shortly before its confluence with the piping, about three kilometers from the town Osterburg ( Altmark) away.

History

Archaeological finds at Düsedau, currently dated to 3500-3300 BC, denote a level of Funnel Beaker Culture, parallel to TrB -MES III and Baalberge.

The place Düsedau appeared in 1238 the first time in a document as Dusdowe. The name suggests a formerly Wendish settlement. The Düsedauer as well as the Calberwischer stone churches date from the second half of the 12th century.

One of the owners in the checkered history of the district Düsedau included Siegfried von Osterburg, the Abbot Gerhard of Will, the town of Helmstedt, Johann von Schulenburg, the Stendal Cathedral Chapter and the University of Frankfurt am Main.

Through a field amendment agreement, the municipal councils of the municipalities have Ballerstedt ( 24 November 2008 ), Düsedau ( on November 12, 2008 ), Erxleben ( 10 November 2008 ), Flessau ( 27 November 2008 ), Gladigau ( November 26, 2008), Mark King ( 25 November 2008 ), Krevese ( 12 November 2008 ), Meseberg ( 19 November 2008 ), Rossau ( 10 November 2008 ), Walsleben ( 10 November 2008 ) and the Hanseatic city Osterburg ( Altmark) decided ( on November 6, 2008 ) that their communities dissolved and a new unified community with the name Hanseatic town Osterburg (Altmark ) were combined. This agreement was approved by the county as a lower municipal supervisory authority and entered into force on 1 July 2009.

After implementation of the amended contract territory of the previously independent municipality Düsedau Düsedau and Calberwisch were districts of the Hanseatic town Osterburg ( Altmark). For powered- affiliated community the village constitution according to § § 86 et seq of the Municipal Code of Saxony -Anhalt has been introduced. The recorded Düsedau community (and the district Calberwisch ) were added to the districts Düsedau and Calberwisch the new Hanse town Osterburg (Altmark ), the mayor Düsedaus remained the mayor Calberwischs. In the incorporated municipality and village nunmehrigen Düsedau a Ortschaftsrat with four members, including the Ortsbürgermeisters was formed.

The last mayor of the municipality was Roland Märker. The current mayor of the district Düsedau is Oliver Rüdrich.

Culture and sights

In Düsedau is the coming of the end of the 12th century village church Düsedau. The Neo-Renaissance castle in the neighboring district Calberwisch - 1875 erected and standing under monument protection Gropiusbau - restored and converted into a restaurant with guest rooms. Today, however, no longer operated as a hotel, but only in private use.
