Eagle Seagull was an American indie band from Lincoln, Nebraska.

Band History

Eagle Seagull was founded in 2004 by singer and songwriter Eli Mardock with JJ Idt and Mike Overfield founded. First, they played alternative country music in the style of Wilco. In October 2004, the other three band members were added. During this time the group started with the first public appearances in Lincoln. The shows attended in the Nebraska scene soon for some attention, so that Brian Vaughan was aware of the band. The former employee at Sub Pop and Saddle Creek was just about to start his own label Paper Garden Records in Nashville, and took Eagle Seagull for the first publication of his label contract. In October 2005, just one year after the first appearance of the band, came to her self -titled debut album out. The reactions in the music press and on -line forums were thrilled. Towards the end of Eagle Seagull was often mentioned in various Best of 2005 bands to watch in 2006. Style

Eagle Seagull does not fit into existing genres of music, as the band has its own distinctive sound between country, folk and indie rock. The well-known indie band Bright Eyes, which is also from Lincoln, Nebraska, maintains a similar style of music.
