Eberstalzell

Eberstalzell is a municipality in Upper Austria in the district of Wels-Land in Hausruckviertel with 2344 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013).

Geography

Eberstalzell is located at 400 m altitude in Hausruckviertel. The village belonged until 2012 to the judicial district of Lambach and since 1 January 2013 part of the judicial district of Wels.

The expansion is 7.2 kilometers from north to south and from west to east 6.3 km. The total area is 27.6 km ². 8.3% of the area is forested and 83 % of the land used for agriculture. Eberstalzell has three Katastralgemeinden: Eberstalzell, Wipfing and Mayer village and consists of the districts Eberstalzell, Hallwang, Ittensam, Wipfing, Litt ring Mayersdorf and play village.

History

Parts of Eberstalzell were already inhabited in Roman times. This is demonstrated by the finds of Roman mosaics at the Roman road Albers village.
