Neukirchen bei Lambach

Neukirchen bei Lambach is a municipality in Upper Austria in the district of Wels-Land in Hausruckviertel with 882 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013).

Geography

Neukirchen bei Lambach is located on 401 m altitude in Hausruckviertel. The village belonged until 2012 to the judicial district of Lambach and since 1 January 2013 part of the judicial district of Wels. The expansion is 4.4 kilometers from north to south, from west to east 4.6 km. The total area is 11.8 km ². 11% of the area is forested, 78.8 % of the area is used for agriculture. Quarters are business park Neukirchen bei Lambach, Aming, village, courtyard, Hofern, Iming, Löpperding, Neukirchen bei Lambach, Niederharrern, Oberschwaig, Schörgendorf, Spöck, Stroham, vineyard and Willing.

Coat of arms

Official Description of 1995 conferred municipality coat of arms: quartered over a split of green and gold hills of green and gold with a lime leaf cross in reversed colors. The municipality colors are yellow and red.

The two dominant colors of the emblem green and gold refer to the agricultural character of the community. The cross symbolizes a hand joined the Church emphasizes place names and on the other hand Neukirchen incorporated as a parish of the monastery of Lambach. The Linde leaves on the ends of the cross are " naturally", reminiscent of the famous son of the town, one of the first, far more than local significance beyond reaching Mundartdichter Upper Austria, Maurus Lindemayr. The Hill points to the located on the northern border of the municipality, 504 m high Krailberg the highest elevation of the district of Wels-Land.

History

In the documents in the Lambach the name Neukirchen is first mentioned in 1070. Originally in the eastern part of the Duchy of Bavaria lying, was the place since the 12th century the Duchy of Austria. Since 1490 he is the Principality of Austria above the Enns attributed. During the Napoleonic Wars, the place was occupied several times. Since 1918, the town belongs to the province of Upper Austria.
