Échenans -sous -Mont- Vaudois is a commune in Haute -Saône in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Échenans -sous -Mont- Vaudois situated at an altitude of 378 m above sea level, four kilometers north-east of Héricourt and about eight kilometers southwest of the town of Belfort ( a straight line ). The village is located in the western part of the Burgundian Gate, on a plateau at the northern foot of Mont Vaudois.

The area of ​​5.44 km ² municipal area includes a portion in the Burgundian Gate. The northern part of the area forms a plateau which is approximately 370 m and from marly sediments of the Lias ( Lower Jurassic ) and Triassic is built. It is drained to Lizaine by the Ruisseau d' Échenans to the west. The plateau is used predominantly agricultural, but also shows some forest areas.
