Écully
Écully is a commune with 17,854 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011 ) in the Rhône department in the Rhône -Alpes; it belongs to the administrative district of Lyon and the Canton Écully whose capital it is.

Geography
The municipality is located in the metropolitan area west of Lyon. Neighboring communities of Écully are:
- Dardilly in the north,
- Champagne -au -Mont- d'Or in the Northeast,
- Lyon in the east,
- Tassin -la -Demi -Lune in the south and
- Charbonnière -les- Bains in the West.
On the western and southern borders of the municipality of Bach Ruisseau des Planches, which flows into the Saône in Lyon runs.
Transport links
Écuilly is easily accessible from all technically by its proximity to Lyon. In the east of the municipality of the A6 motorway, Lyon direction north runs. The Northeast is crossed by a railway line that crosses Dardilly and Villefranche -sur- Saône to Mâcon.

Écully is the seat of Groupe SEB. In addition, the place is home to numerous national schools and universities, such as the state's engineering school Ecole Centrale de Lyon, one of the Grande écoles and private Paul Bocuse Institute for Hospitality and Culinary Arts.
