Ed Courtenay

Edward Emmett Courtenay ( born February 2, 1968 in Verdun, Quebec ) is a retired Canadian- British ice hockey player and coach. Most recently, he played with the Manchester Phoenix in British English Premier Ice Hockey League. In the National Hockey League, he was active for the San Jose Sharks.

Career

Courtenay played for four years in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with the Laval Titan and Granby Bisons. In his last season were his 114 points in 68 games crucial for the Walh the Second All-Star team in the league. Despite its good performance, the right winger was ungedraftet.

For the season 1988/89 Courtenay became a professional and played the following three years with the Kalamazoo Wings of the International Hockey League, the farm team of the Minnesota North Stars of the NHL.
