Granby Prédateurs

The prédateurs de Granby was a Canadian ice hockey team from Granby, Québec. The team played from 1981 to 1997 in one of the three highest Canadian Junior Hockey League, the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League ( QMJHL ).

History

The Eperviers de Sorel Sorel - Tracy were 1981, Quebec, Granby, Quebec, relocated and renamed de Granby Bisons. Under this name played the franchise until 1995. During his last two years, the team was called prédateurs de Granby. Their most successful season graduated from the team in the 1995/96 season in which they won the Coupe du Président first as a master of the QMJHL. In the subsequent Final tournament for the Memorial Cup, the Peterborough Petes prédateurs from the Ontario Hockey League defeated 4-0 in the final game, so after 15 years the first time a club from Québec won the Memorial Cup.

Following the 1996/97 season the franchise to Sydney, Nova Scotia, was relocated, where it participates since then under the name Cape Breton Screaming Eagles game on operation of the QMJHL. The gap left by the relocation in the city, was still closed in 1997 due to lightning de Granby from the Quebec Semi-Pro Hockey League, which competed from 2002 to 2004, also under the name prédateurs de Granby in their league.
