Geography

The municipality is located on the eastern shore of Lake Sempach Sempach and between Sursee. Since the construction of the motorway tunnel " calibration " the village is divided into two in the lower village on the lake and the upper village to the church. Through the village flows a stream which is called simple village stream. Since then, it grows because of the excellent access through the highway and the beautiful location continuously (increase from 1970 to 2004: 176.4 %) and will soon reach the milestone of 1,500 people.

History

The area has been inhabited for millennia. Lake Sempach was around 1,700 BC, the coastal settlement. Also finds from the Hallstatt period, Roman and Alemannic time prove the permanent settlement.
