The Eisenberg is 635.5 m above sea level with. NN is the highest mountain of crumpled Mountains ( crumpled ) and belongs to the Hersfeld-Rotenburg district in northern Hesse, Germany.

Geographical location

The Eisenberg rises in south center of the crumpled Mountains, about 13.5 km (air line) west-northwest of Bad Hersfeld on the border of the municipalities New stone in the north and in the south of Kirchheim. It lies between the villages Neuensteinerstrasse salt mine in north-northwest, Raboldshausen in the north-northeast, east-northeast Obergeis in the Kirchheimer Rotterterode villages in the southeast and Willingshain in the south and the upper Aulaer Friedigerode village in West southwest.

North of Eisenberg flows through the aforementioned Neuensteinerstrasse villages of Geisbach, east of the mountain springs of Kisselbach as a northern tributary of the current flowing through the municipality of Kirchheim auditorium.

Borgmann tower

On the mountain stands the 24 m high tower Borgmann, 1913 by a crumpled Mountain Club erected, stone observation tower, from which a beautiful view can be enjoyed. About the forested mountains and valleys of Knüll can be seen among others - clockwise starting in the north: Hawk Forest, Reinhard Forest, Kaufunger forest, Hoher Meißner, Thuringian Forest, Rhön, Vogelsberg, Taunus, Westerwald, Rothaargebirge and cellar woods. The tower is named after the forester Hugo Borgmann (1841-1906), founder of the crumpled mountain club. There was a predecessor of 1894 -1906 wooden tower.

Attached to the tower Borgmann are a mountain inn with hotel operations and the Wanderheim Heußnerhaus the crumpled mountain club.

Telecommunications tower

Approximately 320 m west-southwest of Borgmann tower is at about 629 m above sea level on Eisenberg. NN ( ⊙ 50.8863333333339.5123527777778 ) is a 115 m high telecommunications tower of Deutsche Telekom AG, which was built in reinforced concrete tower as type FMT 5.

This tower is next to the radio and the non- public land mobile also to supply the East Hesse region with the program of Planet more music radio to the FM frequency 100.3 MHz with 50 kW ERP. By 2005, this frequency of Hit Radio FFH was used.
