Elena Risteska

Elena Risteska ( Macedonian Елена Ристеска, also Elena Ristevska; * April 27, 1986 in Skopje ) is a singer from Macedonia.

Into the music business she joined at the age of 16, when she won a casting competition. A year later, in 2003, she released her first album ( Ден и ноќ, the i noć, " day and night "). Simultaneously, she studied Italian and literature.

She participated at the Euro Vision Song Contest 2006 and went for Macedonia with the title Ninanajna at the start. At the national level she qualified on March 4, 2006, when she was able to prevail against 19 other competitors. She had a lead of 133 votes over the runner-up. In the final in Athens she reached the twelfth place, what that meant for Macedonia until now best ranking on the ESC with 56 points.
