Eliezer Shostak

Eliezer Schostak (Hebrew אליעזר שוסטק; born December 16, 1911 in Wolodymyrez ( Rivne Oblast ); † August 20, 2001 in Ramat Gan ) was an Israeli politician.


He was born in the Russian Empire, where he joined in 1930 the Betarbewegung. In 1935, he immigrated to the League of Nations Mandate for Palestine. At first he was in a working brigade of Betar and was elected in 1936 to the Secretary of the National Workers Labor Federation. He was a member of the Znetralkommitee the right Hatzohar sat in its national executive council. Then he became a member of led by Menachem Begin Cherutbewegung. In 1966, he placed himself in intra-party power struggles against Begin and lost. He was member of the Knesset from 1951 to 1988 and from 20 June 1977 until 13 September 1984 the Israeli Minister of Health
