Ellen Wellmann

Ellen Wessinghage (born Tittel, divorced Wellmann; born June 28, 1948 in Mühlbach, Saxony ) is a former German middle and long distance runner in the 1970s - starting for the Federal Republic of Germany - was one of the world's best in the 1500 meter race. In 1975, she was elected to the Federal Republic of sportswoman of the year.

Her biggest success is the bronze medal at the European Championships 1971 ( 4:10,3 min). They also launched at the 1972 Olympic Games, the 1976 Olympic Games and the European Championships in 1974, but without medal success.

Other achievements: In 1970, she won the 1500 -meter run in the European Cup final. 1970-1975 she was German champion in 1500 -meter run ( 1970 to 1973 under her birth name Ellen Tittel ). 1974 World University champion in the 3000 meters; 1980 German champion in cross-country running, middle distance and long distance running.

In the 1980s, they tried on long journeys and reached the 3000 -meter run 8:56,77 min ( 1981), in the 5000 -meter run 15:34 min ( 1981) and in the 10,000 -meter run 32: 52.93 min. In 1984 she won the Murten run 17.2 km.
